Help please!!!!!

I have a yellow-throated plated lizard that I got back in January. He has been doing great until maybe two weeks ago. All of a sudden he will not eat anything and he is just laying around. He used to be so alert and would look and jump around when I would go into the room, but now he just lays there and sleeps most the of the day. He walks around some, but not much. He hasn't eaten either in I know it has to be almost two weeks. I am so worried!!! I don't know if it's the temps or what, or maybe he was eating too much.

He was eating superworms, mealworms and crickets. He wouldn't eat no fruits or veggies. I would dust them with powder three times a week. He would eat at least 5 supers and 5 mealworms a day and maybe 3 or 4 crickets every two days. Now he won't eat anything. I keep the temps at 90 to 95 during the day and between 80 and 85 at night. He has a cooler side and a hotter side. He has his water bowl, two hidey spots and lots of room to burrow in his substrate. His humidity was staying around 35 but now it has seemed to have gone up to 50%, 55 when his basking light is out at night. I don't know why it has gone up like that. Could that be the problem?

Anyway, could somebody please help me out here. I don't know what to do. I don't want to loose him!!!!!!!!!!! He is so awesome. He is still nice and fat right now. He was really skinny when we got him. I don't think he liked it at the pet store. They didn't really know anything about him because they had never had any yellow-throateds before. He is also still pooping daily, which I would think is a good thing.

Thanks for any help,

Lisa

Lisa ,
Chances are that your plated is wild caught and it might just be a natural brumation period with the change of season. Also sometimes lizards get bored with getting the same food all the time. Try not giving food for a few days then try something different like cooked ground turkey or earthworms. As long as your plated isn't losing weight it's probaly nothing to worry about but if he starts to lose weight take him to a herp vet. Good luck
