I think it's a Northern Water Snake....what do you think?

He sure looks like a watersnake; not sure about the northern. Where did you find him?

I found him along a creek in Fayette County Ga. We have many water snakes here. We also have many cottonmouths too.

That looks like a young snake, judging by the size of the leaves and needles. Northern water snakes that I have seen that young almost look black and white. They have much more contrast.
