pygmy chameleon habitat

tamaracklizards May 29, 2008 10:22 AM

I'm big into naturalistic vivariums and keeping multiple compatible species together. I wanted to put some pygmy chameleons in with my big-eye tree frogs and some mantellas. Would pygmy chameleons be ok with standing water in their cage? Would they be ok with frogs? Thanks for your help.

no, they would not.

you would have to compromise the health of the frogs to make the terrarium livable for the chameleons.

i dont condone mixing diff. species either, but im not going to get into an argument over that..

To elaborate on this, Frog tanks need alot of humidity and usually require a glass top. Dwarf chams need slightly less humidity and more air movement requiring a screen top. Frogs need alot of lush tropical plants for them to hide in and on. Dwarf chams like it more woodsey with more sticks and twigs with a few plants. This is just my opinion because I build both dart frog tanks and dwarf cham tanks, there is a big difference.
