I have raised this Sulcata from birth 9 yrs ago. It is 19" straight shell length and weighs about 55 lbs. I was sure it was a female(perfect flat underside) but it is trying to mount my red foot and aldabra. What do you think male or female.
Thanks,
Jeff

Definitely looks like a female but if its mounting other tortoises I would think it has to be a male, Ive never seen a female try to mount anything. Looks can be deceiving with sulcatas.

Female. What your see is dominance behavoir; Some Females can be worse than aggressive males

Thank you. Thats what i thought. She has stopped doing it now. Now i can look for an adult male.

Female!
My female dogs mount my males dogs all the time, as stated before this is their way to display dominance.
