Help-what to do with wild turtle

helpaturtle Jun 01, 2008 03:29 PM

Hello. I had my garage up today while I mowed, and when I came in, there was a turtle sitting inside by my garbage can, just out of the sunlight. I picked him up, put him in my kitchen sink with just a tiny amount of water and a piece of celery, and now don't know what to do with him or where to put him. I don't think I want to build him a home outdoors, so should I just let him go outside near some plants and hope for the best? Thanks.

What kind of turtle is it? Is there a pond near where you live that she could have come from? Is it a land turtle or a water turtle. If it is a water turtle, and there is some kind of pond near where you live, just put her back. If it is a Box turtle, and there is a lot of woods near your house than she must have come from there.
