kramer75 Jun 05, 2008 02:13 PM

I'm interested in getting these geckos just wanted to do a little homework on them first . Does anyone know their care requirements , I really haven't found much at all. I beleive the scienctific name is geckolepis. maculata( sorry bout the spelling don't have it written down here but it should be pretty close

The only thing I can find is that it looks like they are found in Madagascar, so look up the climate there. Also, it looks as though if they are touched they lose their scales, similar to Day geckos.

I don't know if you have kept other geckos, but it doesn't look like something I would suggest for someone new to keeping geckos.

Thanks I was looking at the weather and such for madagascar but I still don't know if they are aboreal or even what type of setup I should use. I have experience with geckos , having breed leos and cresties and currently trying to breed leaftails. Thanks

Alright, juuust checkin.

I would probably guess arboreal but there's really nothing saying that. I'm just going off of this website I kind of found that says this guy kept finding them on the walls outside his hotel room in Madagascar. So, they like to be on walls.

Good luck finding some to buy though, if you get enough info on them.
