This girl is the offspring of a wildcaught pair of beaded lizards imported 28 years ago.The founder pair is still living and has reproduced as late as 2006.

All of the young show this different pattern and colour.. snow whiter here being the most extreme.

They differ from all my other beadeds by having more slender heads with very pointed headscales. The tail is thicker and flattened at the base.

Have any of you encountered specimens like this !

Wow thats a crazy looking beaded! Is that an exasp? I heard they and gilas have an overlapping range in mexico. It certainly looks to me like that guy may have some gila in the wood pile a few gens back!lol Are they as big as normal beadeds?

That's a beautiful animal! If you have to put a name on it I would say it could be a hypomelanistic. Steve Angeli has a similar animal.

As far as seeing any gila influence in its pedigree, um... I might want to try what you're on...

You truely show your intelligence well in your post gilas91....I've seen tons of gilas and beadeds both in pics and personally and never seen one close ITS BODY SHAPES DIFFERENT TOO IF YOU BOTHERED TO READ THE DESCRIPTION..I'll pass on whatever your taking that makes you such an arrogant clueless n close minded schmuck (midol/prosac ccktail)? Are you comparing genetic maps of the two as you insult me? I didn't think so...

I apologize, my response came off harsher than I intended, but really it was just a joke...

That said, I still don't see anything in the picture or the description that would imply any gila influence in that animal, amazing looking as it is.
