Jacksons Morphs?????

reptyls Jun 22, 2008 02:14 PM

Are there any Albino Jacksons(besides Michael...lol)? I had someone tell me that they can get them along with other color morphs of Jacksons. I had never heard of any and thought he might be full of it, but I thought I would check just to be sure.
Thanks
Brian

As far as I know there are no genetic "morphs" of any cham species other than veileds or panthers. There is so much individual variation (who knows whether they are genetic or not) and the captive populations of the other species so small that I doubt anyone can claim they have morphs. There are the jax subspecies (Mt. Meru), but they shouldn't be labeled as morphs. Sounds like the claim is full of it.

Thank you , I figured as much, but just thought I would check. He stated that he had blue and yellow jacksons, and he might be able to get me an albino also!!!

Some of the subspecies have more blue and yellow markings, but that would hold true for all individuals in that group. I have never understood why anyone would want an albino cham. Their beautiful shifting colors would probably be lost. Most albinos have health problems, light sensitivity, other genetic disorders too.
