Hello!

My little sulcata, Link, is about a year old now. He seems to be in excellent health and everything is going along just fine except that his nails are getting awfully long. I was thinking that I could put some sort of large flat stone in his enclosure so he could walk on it and maybe slowly grind down his nails. I also read that I could have them clipped. I'm a little weary about having his nails clipped because his little feet are so small that any mistakes would result in one bad situation... Any advice? Thanks!

try the stone idea... or a dremmel. we have to dremmel our dogs nails--- much safer than clipping--dont have to worry about the quick getting snipped off. with the dremmel- if you shave too deep- you will only nick the quick (lol- that ryhmed) and not cut it-- and gush blood everywhere...

try the stone first--- then maybe a dremmel.

I found this really nice flat stone and I cleaned it up and put it flush with his substrate in an area he likes to claw at. It's only been in there a day or two and he's already begun scratching at it so it should work just fine. :D

Thanks for the advice!
