how can you tell if a rosy boa is male or female?

i heard you can tell by looking at the size of its tale but mine is missing the end of his/her tale and i dont know how much is missing it was like that when i got him/her

Look for spurs near vent. If present=male

there seems to be small spurs but i cant tell if they are actually spurs or not do females have anything near there vent?
