enough lighting?

bigbruva Jul 11, 2008 11:59 AM

im currently waiting for a new cage to be built because my ig is getting too big for the one hes got. so ive been leaving his door open so he can go in and out when he wants to get more exercise. only problem is hes choosing to stay out most of the time and im worried he might not be getting all the nutrients he needs from the uva and uvb lights.
i frequently put him in an outdoor cage for a few hours a day so he gets quite abit of natural sunlight though.

If he's getting a few hours of sunlight every day, he should be fine. A lot of people set up free roaming basking spots for their igs. I've seen pics of windowsill spot, etc with a shelf and a heat lamp/UV.
