Efts on the hunt

ShawnKC Jul 12, 2008 08:43 AM

Most of the group is content to eat whatever is closest to their mouths..Phoenix worms, fruit flies, red worms but these two aren't happy unless they are on the hunt. They will go up the branch to get to the hydei that are climbing to the top. It's hysterical to watch them wrestle each other to get to the top first.

I've come under the care of a newly aquried red eft and I dnt know much about them except that they eat mostly worms and that its in the terrestrial stage. I have it in a temporary 5 gallon tank. I want to setup a 10 gallon tank for it but I havnt been able to find what it will eat. So far I've tried crickets. He hasn't eaten any (I put one in there and has still be in there after 4 days). I want to get him eating b4 I invest money on a new setup. Right now he most hides under a rock cave which sits on top of aquarium gravel. There's about an inch of water on the other half of the tank. I'm a fish guy, can someone help me out?
