FIGHTING SLIDER!!!!!

ChesterManiac Jul 17, 2008 09:14 PM

I need help pronto. My RES is about 5 yrs old.I just him a new home in a 30 gallon tank. My girlfriend bought my RES a girlfriend. SHe is smaller than him and is getting attacked by my older slider. One male (the older aggressor)who has a history of biting and just being plain old mean; one female (9 month old). What should I do about this? I have them seperated as of now, but I am a college student and can't afford a new habitat for the neswest turtle. Will the fighinf subside? Is this just a dominance or a territorial issue that will pass? I NEED HELP!!!

Keep them separated. I've had the same problem. You'll have to invest if you want to keep them both.

I know no other solution.
