An associate of mine found this turtle while surveying some property in CT. It's obviously not a native species. These were the only photos he was able to take. Any ideas to what species it is?

That is a melanistic slider (Trachemys scripta), probably the red-eared slider (T. s. elegans). Melanism is very common in older individuals of this species.

Big words for a red ear slider that is commomly released in CT and MA. Its not a native and should not be released back.
