Paralized lizard?

T4gal Jul 19, 2008 11:17 PM

I have a couple of lizards that I caught and decided to keep as pets, and I've had them for about three weeks now and so far they've been doing well, but just a couple days ago one of them stopped using his back legs, it's like they are paralized. He just drags his rear end whenever he walks. I don't know what kind of lizard it is, but he's quite small so I think he's pretty young. I first noticed the problem when I saw him laying on the floor of his cage, and when I opened the cage he got up and started dragging his hind legs when he went to hide.
If anyone knows how this could have happened or how I can fix it please let me know.
Thanks!

Could you get some pics up so we know what we're dealing with? Have they been eating and defecating well? It almost sounds like the one may be impacted. I know beardeds have this problem when they get impacted. Just some thoughtsd.

He actually died already. We tried giving him a warm bath but soon after he died. He had been eating very well, I was feeding them crickets and he always ate. He did seem to have a problem with hardened poop sticking to his rear, not sure if that might have had something to do with it or not.
I'm sorry, I don't have any pics of him, and the one I have left looks like it's a different kind, the markings on his back are different.
If he still could be the same, let me know and I'll try and get pics of him.

He was apparently beyond help at this point. Sorry to hear he died.
