Tortoise Table Dimensions

turtlesstartedit Jul 24, 2008 02:32 PM

I want to build a tortoise table for a rescued male Greek. I believe it is still growing, but right now is only 5". If another Greek rescue becomes available (male or female), I would like to house them together. The question is: will a 6'x2'x1' table be sufficient? I'm not really concerned about floor space, but rather height. Will 1' height keep a Greek in, even if I end up getting a female as well? I plan to keep the tortoise table ontop of a shelf, so an escapee could have a potential 4' fall... so I don't want any escapees! If I have to make the enclosure higher, I will have to sacrifice some floor space so that I only use one piece of OSB.
Thanks in advance!
Zach

Just put a lip around the edge.

Or a lid of some kind.

So even if they can reach the edge, they can't get over it.
