I'm getting ready to pair up my adult dumerils, however i've had a few people tell me that if the male is smaller than the female, she will eat him. i found it hard to believe at first because boas aren't known for being cannibals, however when a few other people told me the same thing i began to feel unsure about putting my pair together. female is 7ft and male is 4.5.

I haven't heard about adult's been canabilistic towards each other. But, I have been told by several different breeders that the babies can be canablistic towards each other. I kept a pair of dum's that were about the same size as the one you have for several years without any problems. May be related to feeding practices. I never fed them in their regular enclosure, I always fed them in seperate enclosures, and then put them back together after an hour or so.

Yes, it is less common in adults. As the other poster mentioned, be careful to separate them during feeding, and keep a good eye on them the first few days.

with adults you should be ok but babies, ya they will eat each other, like a ding bat I wasnt thinking one day while packing for a show and threw a baby dumerils and colombians in one bag togther when I got to ther show I had one big fat happy dumerils, it was its first meal to
