Teleport85 Jul 30, 2008 09:48 AM

I'm getting a Claudius angustatus (narrow-bridged musk turtle) next week from BF Morris. I just want to know more information then I do alrdy. I have a 20gallon Long tank waiting for a 4" little guy. So far I know that the guy said only feed is frozen pinkie mice, no pellets, and no goldfish. What about Rossie reds? Any other food I can give her?? Lighting, I know a basking spot isn't required, but If i was getting a light for the little one, what kind should i go for (uva or uvb or both)? Thanks for reading and hope to get some answers.

No need to worry about what your Claudius will eat...they will eat everything! Mine eat pellets, earthworms, cooked shrimp, cooked chicken, live wild feeder fish, fingers, faces and anything else that comes within striking distance. And they do strike.

Oh they strike A? Are they fast? i'm getting a 4" little guy. So wait pellets are ok for it? This dude i'm gettin them from said it could poison them, and to just feed them pinkie mice True/false? Also what size tank is ideal for an adult, I got a 20L waiting for now. Mayday, help me out!

hi, I fed my Claudius Hikari Cichlid Gold pellets, but only in small amounts so they don't get fat. Pinky mice only once a week. The tank decor was driftwood and cork bark, filtered by a small submersible filter that I rinsed out weekly after changing the water.

expensive pet, but easily cared for....

Thank you for the Info.. Do you still have your Claudius? How old is he/she? What size tank did you have for the Claudius when he was full size? I use a 20gallon L for now cause she's not full size, but just for the future.
