Enclosure Tree

miniusa1 Aug 01, 2008 08:11 AM

Looking for ideas for a free standing tree for our enclosure. Must have strong enough branches to hold an adult aussie. Any ideas? Thanks

How much space do you have to put a tree in. Thats vital in my answer because the best would be a huge tree but if your enclosure is only 6-10 feet tall then thats another story. I usually only use fake trees because sure real trees are badass, but when the time comes to change the cage it puts you in a hard situation. Also, for the humidity, A waterfall would look cool, but the plumming and maintainance would be insane. This would be easier and probably less expensive. http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=9738&cmpid=07csent&ref=3665&subref=AA&srccode=cii_9324560&cpncode=07-66723650-2

You can program it to you needs. Example: spray for 5 seconds every 2 minutes or so.

Thanks for the info. I have him in a cages by design enclosure. It's only 4' tall, 5' wide and 3' deep. I just want him to have a green (fake is ok) strong tree to bask in as an option. He's getting quite large and the branches will need to be strong. What do you suggest?

if u have the cages by design stuff why dont u get the Y Branch they sell with the straight brance that comes with it. or get the Y and make or buy ur own bigger straight branch to put in btwn the Y.

i only use 1 branche in my tank. although right now my tank is kinda small i have the extra large exoterra tank. and for him being arborial i got some bricks stacked them. then made like a bridge with reptile bridfges and put the branch in the corner so he can jump from tyhe top of his bridge to the top of the wood. also the bridge i like bc he can get to his basking spot easier and the ceramic or whatever it is heats up nicer bc it holds the heat better.
