outside pond in my basement

golfdiva Aug 02, 2008 07:13 PM

Has anyone ever used one of those preformed garden ponds, inside? I was wondering if it needed in extra support around the sides.

Any suggestions?

Yes, I have used them for many years both inside and out.
You won't need to support the sides as long as you don't
fill it completely full which is unlikely with turtles.

Hope this helps

I put a 60 gal in my basement. It is in a brick enclosure that used to have a fake fire place. I put sand on the bottom. That's really all I did.

How many turtles do you have in that 60 g? I'm thinking of putting one of these in my basements as well. I have 4 RES.

Thanks for both your replies! That makes me feel more confident! I have a female cooter and male slider in a 130 gallon pond. I think they need more room! I've been working on it this afternoon. I'll let you know how it turns out.

I have a 160 gallon on my patio. I did notice it starting to bow a little from the water, so we built it a frame much like ones used for a hottub
