disinfecting vines

amiller82 Aug 06, 2008 10:22 AM

I recently purchased a used tank for my beardies and the guy was nice enough to throw in several biovine pieces that he had used in the past. Any ideas on the best way to disinfect these vines so that I can safely use them with my chams?

You can use a water/bleach solution and hot water rinses until you can't smell the bleach. 1 park bleach to 10 parts water.

I like to use forced steam (I have a little steam machine, a cleaning appliance). Nothing can survive that heat! and no risk of trace chemicals left behind.
A weak bleach solution in very hot / boiling water, rinsed well and rinsed again is okay too
