Nematodes discovered in substrate. Substrate is discarded and terrarium disinfected.

Size varies. Many are smaller, but these appear to be fully mature at 20mm.

Preparing to treat with fenbendazole liquid 100mg/ml, 100mg/kg, PO q. 2 week. Individual dose for this HL is 5 units.

Injecting liquid into mealworm. Waxworms and crickets may also be used. Here the needle is inserted between the scales of the larvae. Each hash mark on the syringe is 1 unit ( .01cc ).

I find mealworms are often easily offered right away to solare and platyrhinos. Some other species are more timid and may need to be placed in a substrate free space and given time to eat the prey. The prey often live for only a short while after being injected however.

HL is replaced into terrarium with paper towels during treatment period, to observe passage of nematodes and keep substrate from being contaminated.
