Heat vs Humidity

Stinky15 Aug 12, 2008 09:39 PM

For the last 2 years I have removed all heat from both of my Dums cages in the summer. The temps here (Minnesota) fall into the low 70's to low 60's! they have always stayed in the "cold side" I have 2 hide boxes in the winter one is heated. Even when I put my heat lamps on they stay on the cooler side but like to soak in the water dishes. I'm starting to think that the normal temps for Dums. is alot lower than we think. Any thoughts?

I judge their temps. with a temp. gun, not where I see them in the cage. On average, they temp. from 84-86, and they can definitely get warmer or cooler at any time. I'd try that for a while to see if you observe anything different. Let me know what you figure out. Could be interesting!
