Had some time about 2 months ago to go herping in the midwest. The weather was not that great at the time, mid 60s and rainy.

These guys were sitting right on the path that I was hiking down, in a patch of sun as you can see. I stepped right over them before noticing them.

I found this rough green snake crossing the road in the middle of the day. Temperature ~75 and sunny.

I was amazed that he stayed this still for me
