HELP! waxy monkey frog is sick!

Goulie Aug 19, 2008 09:17 PM

My waxy monkey tree frog has recently become lethsrgic and anorexic. His substrate cannot be ingested, only hot water used to clean his enclosure (so no soap toxicity)and we handle him as little as possible. I dont know what to do! I have only had him for a few months but he used to eat well, be active at night, and have regular bowel movements (now not having any..last one seen was runny). And Im not sure if its related but this all seems to have started after he took a fall off his branch (about 8-9 inches down). Does anyone have any suggestions or advise? Please! I dont want my frog to die!

Hmm...if he fell off his branch it's probably something like injury or neuro, and not parasites or husbandry. I would try to contact dr. frye, he is the only person that jumps to mind in diagnosing this stuff. his site is http://fryebrothersfrogs.com and it has his contact info.

Thank you for your response! Im afraid its too late for my little froggy though...he ended up dying in the meantime. I guess I will never know for sure if the fall was directly related, but thank you for your suggestions. Poor little guy...
