Blue tongue skink basking spot-

As my Blue Tongue Skink gets older and more terrestrial i would like to switch his basking spot from a branch to a rock- to what extent does the absorption of warmth effect the temp and do people know any commercially available rocks for this-

any large flat rock will do... slate tiles are good. You can buy these for cheap, about 12" square and half inch thick. Heavy enough they won't shift easily but can be glued together.. One or two full tiles stacked on top of each other will make a low easy to get on top basking area... or two just side by side on top of a paper towel substrate.
