First Veiled Chameleon clutch Hatching..

sacreptile Aug 25, 2008 01:15 PM

Hey I have about three out of 27 eggs already hatched and I would like to know if these babies usually have an appetite right away, would you see them feeding right away or do they take a while, I havnt seen them eat yet. I have fruit flies and pinheads readily available for them and havnt noticed them take interest. And if anyone has any other knoweledge about caring for hatchlings I would like to hear from you, Ive done the research but there isnt alot of info about hatchlings on the web. Thankyou, SacreptileHouse

I've only raised panthers, but they generally did not eat the same day they hatched. I believe they are absorbing the final reminants of their egg. Second day most began to eat and drink. by day three all were doing so.
hope this helps
