Hello, I have a question.....

sdi Aug 26, 2008 02:51 PM

I was looking at some photos from the Daytona expo on another forum. I came across this photo:

Does anyone know what kind of iguana this is and where I can find more info about them???

Any help would be greatly appreciated. It is such a beautiful iguana.

Thanks,

Steve

Banana Spiny Tailed Iguana (Ctenosaura pectinata, yellow population morph). The animals were bred by Kelly Paul. I sooooooo wanted one.

The best place to look for care would be our Ctenosaur/Cyclura forum.

I have attached a basic Ctenosaura care sheet.

I saw that one, beautiful wasn't he? Did you see the Philippine Sailfin? Hope I got that name right. Another gorgeous, gorgeous, lizard. My teen daughter is begging for that one.

I didn't even see the kingsnake booth! I so want a T-shirt now!

I'm not into blood pythons, but I would love a black-headed python! So to add to my teen's list, she wants a sailfin, she has been longing for a black dragon and took pics of the one at Seigel's. She has black dragon in her email and wants a black dragon website. Of course, that was before she knew about black dragons and named it all after her Colombian tegu, Oreo. She also eyeballed the albino Nile Monitors. She really loves lizards!

My 12yo daughter and I looked at all the frogs. We ended up buying a 1/3 grown pyxie frog and a one-eyed, gravid, normal corn from the Crutchfields.

It was a great time. I skipped Daytona last year, and almost didn't make it this year since our garage flooded after TS Fay.

Yeah we weren't on the map! That really confused a few people. I love getting to meet people I "talk" with every day.

We didnt buy a thing! I got a few free bee shirts from other vendors. Just a whole lot of looking and drooling this year. I was actually really into a lot of animals on display this year.

Sorry to hear about the flooding, but thankfully it was only the garage and not the whole house!
