Pot training my new tegus

Flavia Guimaraes Sep 10, 2008 02:47 PM

First, id like to know how tegus s#### looks like. Watery and full of green and white stuff like iguana´s or dried pellets like uros and Bearded Dragon?

Second, i want to know if once pot trained a tegus will spontaneously go to the "right place" to poop or you have to take it to the pot every time he wants to do "it".

My iguana is pot trained and he goes to his baby bathtub each time he needs to evacuate.

Tegu poo is like a soft brown turd that may have a bit of water along with it since they like to drink. It's soft than an iguana, not as pellety as a uro, not as mushy as a beardie.

My merianae are not potty trained, but my teguixin is...sort of. She won't go in her cage and waits for me to taker her out of her enclosure. I lay newspaper down and she 'goes' on the paper. Easy to clean. I wish they all did that. I have found that the other tegus will go in the same general area, though.
