Acrantophis and Heterodon

karsten76 Sep 14, 2008 08:48 AM

Hello,
I'm from Germany and searching for literature about Acrantophis and Heterodon. Unfortunately there's no german literature about this snakes. Do you know books about them? I already have the (bad) book "Hognose Snakes) by Adele Richardson.

Don't have anything on the Acranthophis (although I thougth they were reclassified to Boa), but if you want info on heterdon, "Texas Snakes" by Werler and Dixon in the hardback has good info on the eastern, western and mexican hognoses--diets, mating, you name it.

Thank you for this information. I seached for the book at amazon but it's very expensive. Do you know if the book "Texas Snakes: a field guide" by the same authors has the same information about the hognose snakes - or is it a strongly shortened version of the first book?
As regarding Acrantophis it think they are again classified as Acrantophis and not as Boa but I'm not 100% sure about it.
