Syringe feeding

punky040501 Sep 23, 2008 08:48 PM

Hi, my vet told me to syringe feed my uro because he has calcium deficiency and stopped eating. He did not seem concerned about me getting fluid in his lungs, but I am worried about it and would like some advice on how I should syringe feed him and how to keep it from getting in his lungs. Thanks.

I would suggest returning to your vet and getting him to demonstrate exactly how to do it. That's what you pay him for, after all. Plus syringe feeding can be very tricky - typed words wouldn't be enough for safe instruction.
