Hypomelanistic FL Banded Water snake

Woodorama Sep 27, 2008 11:48 AM

Found this snake in Sanford, Florida. I am calling this snake hypomelanistic due to absolutely no black or dark areas on its body. Oddly enough, I found a new born hypo 2 years ago about a half mile from where this one was caught. Have not probed it to determine sex yet. It is about 15 inches long and has been feeding well on guppies. I have pictures upon request. Beautiful snake.
