Does anyone have any tips on keeping mites out of the compressed coconut bark? They aren't on the frogs, but in the dirt. I have tried the mite sprays and all that but it doesn't work. I have kept tree frogs for 10 years, and have had the same problem for all ten: either I get it humid enough for the frogs, and get mites, or its not humid enough, and we all pay the price. Any suggestions would be helpful.

what type of frogs do you keep? i mostly keep dart and mantellas so they just eat them, but i have never gotton mites in my treefrog tanks. i would put mite paper by the tanks and keep the humidity high, they don't like high humidity for the most part. are your mites red or white? the whites ones like to hang out on the lids of tanks so you should be able to get rid of them by wiping down the area with mite spray and keeping mite paper nearbye. if they are the red ones i have no idea what to do, they like to eat dead plant matter so maybe clean out the tank.
