Wow. I love the variation. Those bright green ones are awesome, but I like the brownish ones too. I saw some railroad tracks in some of those pics. They are good areas for herping. Back when I lived in Pa, I used to find black racers, along with copperheads and eastern milks around some old tracks.

Thanks Matt! Yea railroad tracks along river edges are pretty good herp areas. I'm with you, they are all cool, but the greens are the best.

Those are some kick@$$ racer pics. Seems like the average for those guys is alot bigger in montana than Oregon and Washington.

Dan,This is probably a dumba$$ question but,are these guys as docile as the pics suggest or,are you just bad like that?lol? The racers I find in my neck of the woods are evil but,they are fun to play with,also they are good subjects for kids to "hook"! Jeff

Hey Jeff,
Some are pretty calm, some bite & musk, it just depends. All baby racers I pick up are pretty defensive, they always make me laugh when they chew on a finger.
