Ok, so im getting a new tank for my turtle, its going in my room. Im looking to buy a stock tank, 40 or 50 gallons. My questions are what filter should I get, will the heat lamp melt the plastic, what plants or others should I put in the tank and what size heater do I need and where can I find a top for it? Thanks, thomas and coco the painted turtle(3 1/2 inches, 1.5 y/o)

Make sure your filter is turtle safe-smaller turtles can get sucked into filter tubes and drown or get caught on them by the suction and drown...think they have special guards around to protect the turtle from being pulled under.
