New to owning lizards question

estalat Oct 19, 2008 09:22 PM

im new to owning a lizard and i want to get one. I have looked around and read a lot about the different types of lizards and I decided that I would either want a bearded lizard or a uromastyx. I have also been reading different care sheets about them and the forums for them on this website, but I don't know which one would be good for a beginner. I am willing to deal with bugs and other feeder insects, but I am not sure which one would be good for a newbie. Please answer! Should I get a bearded dragon or a uromastyx???

Based on the research YOU do, YOU should be the person making that decision, not another person on the forums.

They are two totally different lizards, review as much of each forum on the animals as you can. Each will have different personality too, so it very much so boils down to what YOU want.

They are both great lizards and very good for a beginner. Personally, I would go with a sexed pair of Bearded Dragons and breed them. It is quite easy to do with Bearded Dragons. If you want to spend a little more i would get an Australian Spiny Tail monitor (Acanthurus) They are great lizards and so hearty they are almost Bulletproof. They stay small and become very tame as do Beardies. RJ
