Alligator lizard vivarium

nirot Oct 19, 2008 10:34 PM

I just recently did some work inside my alligator lizard's viv. I thought it had thrown him off or upset him at first because he started acting different. Hiding all the time not eating and such. But I guess it might be getting cold where he is from now so it's probably brumation time.

here's a pic.

I'd like the ivy to grow out in there, but I'm not too sure if it will with the level of lighting it gets.

What are you using for substrait? Is that Eco earth? As far as the ivy it will grow. I kept a little ivy plant in my guest bathroom "very little light or water" for over a year with no problems. It grew very very slow but stayed alive. I decided just last week to rip it out and plant it in the ground at our new house.

I was hoping my ivy would grow faster now that I have some plant lights on them, but it's still pretty slow going. I guess that's kind of normal. Does anybody know some faster growing vine plants that would do well with alligator lizards?
