Opinions on Keeping & Ethics

So, I keep reading about how "voodoo" (for lack of a better word) it is to breed different species of Dart Frogs together. But what about keeping them together? What if you're not a breeder and your just someone that's made a beautiful vivarium for display and want different colorful frogs in it? (Of course, this is all assuming the species have been researched and selectively picked to accommodate size differences in the species, as well as abilities to co-exists when considering territorial issues as well as environmental similarities in their housing needs). Is it really that bad for Joe Schmoe who wants a display tank? Maybe there is a way to prevent breeding? But when you start as babies, there's no real way of telling...

I think taboo is a better word. I really don't have the time to go into the whole mixing tank verdict now, but go do dendroboard.com and do a search for mixed tanks. Amphibiancare.com has a good articile on it as well.
