He is eating daily finally. He's a fool for slugs. I fed him the last one lastnight. Otherwise I have been giving him sliced up nightcrawlers. I live in the Mid Atlantic, is there a website to buy slugs that anyone knows of? Also, I know that there are aquarium snails at my pet store, should I try feeding him them? I have been following Dekay Brown's advice on light, temp, cage substrate, feeding... and Little Brown is doing great as a result. As a rescuer I wish more people knew about this website.

Unfortunately I left my tub of slugs on the porch and the temps dipped down to 10 degrees overnight last week and when I thawed it out, I had a tub of mush

Forcast calls for milder temps this week, praying to find some more....

I attempted to feed my baby Dekayi snakes last night, out of 7 babies only 2 gobbled up the chopped worm.

My little Northern Brown is dead. I went to get him out of the cage this evening and he was dead. I know as a rescuer that sometimes this happens but he was doing so well, eating and healing. No comments necessary, but this is one time that I am crying. He seemed to be doing so well, I thought he would survive.

I don't know if anybody has tried it but the snakes probably will take snails. I'm guessing the snails at the pest store would be way too big to eat though... I might be mistaken. I've read that browns have specialized mouths designed to take snails out of their shells. If you have the resources to do so, I would love to see a video of this

I will try and film it for you.

Its amazing to watch, they grab the fleshy part and drag backward against whatever they can find until the snail is extracted.

For feeding the wee tots, I am going to try cutting up some aquatic snail and see if they take it or not.

We have an aquarium that is overrun with those.
