I have had my first clutch of Sudanese uros hatch this week. Just wanted to show them off a bit. There were nine eggs and one dud and all have finally hatched. The first picture is of the 1st five and the second is a pic of the male and a couple of the babies. Hope you enjoy.

Haha, you got plenty of mouths to feed without more babies
What kind of incubator are you using? I am hoping to get eggs from my mali's this year and haven't decided on an incubator yet...

yesimhavingfun Dec 01, 2008 05:00 PM

Hey Justin,
I am using one of those "high tech" incubators called a Hovobator. It’s cheap and it works! I run it with a Helix DBS-1000 thermostat and I use a digital thermometer to double check the temps. I think that these two add-ons are what make it work. I then use glad containers to hold the eggs. This year I tried using hatchrite for a substrate I , but normally use perilite or vermiculite for substrate.
While my set-up works, the temperatures will fluctuate as the room temps fluctuate. You also must be quick when opening the incubator as heat will be lost very quickly. Any ways, here are some pics.

Here is an external view.

Hey Nat,
Congrats!! Knew you could pull it off. They're a good pair of breeders & you're a great keeper.
I'm heading back to snakes. Less effort.
Let me know if you're interested in what's left.
