Green and Black Auratus

df92484 Dec 02, 2008 12:29 PM

Hi, I am new to dart frogs and this might sound like a silly question, but I bought two young Green and Black Auratus and placed them in a 40 gallon breeder, intending to buy more when they became available. I just bought a third Green and Black Auratus and I placed it in the tank. The third frog is an adult I would consider the first two to be juveniles, however, the size difference is not substantial. My question is the first two look to be more of a blue-green color, whereas the third is an intense bright green. did I buy blue and black Auratus by mistake? or will they get more green with age? or could this be a difference of blood lines? I bought them from the local pet shop. Any suggestions would be helpful thank you.

really the only way to tell is to ask the people you bought it from. i bought an auratus from a very reputable breeder and it changed color all the time. it would go from a blue with turquios to almost black with green.
