Is it important for painteds to get uv in their basking light, or is the main reason for the light is the heat?

Thanks

If they are in the house, UVB is very important. You should have a basking light, and a UVB. Some people put a heater in the tank also, but I never did. Mine were mostly outside and only came in for the winter. I always kept them at room temp. But the UVB is very important.
