So my dummy is a little over a year old and eats 1-2 live adult mice once a week, and just seems to still be on the small side. She is about 20 inches or so and has the girth just bigger than a quarter. Am I just a worrier or is it normal?
Thanks

My yearling male is the same way. He gets 2 large fuzzy rats a week or 1 small rat pup a week. I would definitely switch your Dum over to rats ASAP. They are actually more nutritious than mice.

Thanks for the info. I will pick up rats asap. I just tried feeding her 2 live mice of similar size and she just struck one and didn't take either. She seems have gone off feed for the last 3 weeks.
Another "interesting" characteristic with Dumerils is the on/off feeding. No need to try to put them on a feeding schedule, it won't work. They might eat like pigs for 2 to 3 weeks (or months) straight and the go off feed for who knows how long. I have a female that went off feed for a full year. My biggest female will only eat for me about every 2-3 months, she has gone as long as 6 months. Make sure to keep water available at all times, keep the temps steady and make sure it has a secure place to hide. Just be patient. I said this on another forum earlier this week "Some Dum's eat like sumo wrestlers and some eat like super models."
GOOD LUCK!!

I have both sumos and supermodels.Got a female from Eden Snakes a few months ago that will eat every time.

Same here. All but 3 biggest females are sumos.

You said You feed 2 a week, you should be feeding it 1 a week, the size of the mouse you are feeding it should have the same girth as your snake or slighly larger than your snakes. Also to increase the growth rate of your snake you should give it a larger enclosure.
