HELP ! Sick Baby

hcgirl88 Dec 16, 2008 05:36 PM

i was walking on a trail when it was like 30 degrees and saw a baby fence lizard just sitting on the ground . he was so tiny ! ! so i picked him up and took him home bc i dont think they are supposed to be out in the cold like that and i didnt want him to die . well i put him in a tank that i have and immediately put a basking light on him and bought some pinhead crickets . ive had him for 3 wks now and he wont eat or move or do anything. i even tried letting him go and he stayed in the exact spot that i put him for a whole day and night. i dont kno what to do . ive tried everything i could think of . how can he survive this long with no food or water. is he hibernating ?????

ITs best to leave him in the wild. There could be a number of things causing him not to eat and just lay there. Take him to the vet.

What kind of light are you using? What are his basking temps? Have you kept diurnal lizards before?
