Granite Spiny Christmas Eggs

mgraphix Dec 21, 2008 10:04 PM

Hi everyone, just got my christmas present, my Granite Spiny just laid 12 eggs tonight. Yes their schedule is a bit confused but I only have them 4 months or so. Anyway, I have her eggs in my incubator and I have hatched Uromastyx and Ackies before but no Granite Spinys. Can anyone who has incubated them let me know roughly what temps, humidity and number of days?

A couple sites listed 40 days but no temps, so any direction would be great! I posted a photo of her I just took below. I think she looks great even after just laying 12 eggs.

What a splendid spiny you have!
I incubated my western fence lizard eggs in vermiculite at 80.5 to 82 degrees Fahrenheit for 54 to 55 days. First clutch 6 babies hatched August 23 08.
Second clutch 9 babies hatched October 1 08 after 54 to 55 days.

Hi again,

Well 10 eggs hatched and I have some adorable eating machines. I have some pics below and have a video on youtube. Check it out and let me know what you think.

Howdy--will you be finding homes for any of the little ones you hatched. I have bred these several times in California many years ago with my son as a project, and they are indeed one of my favorite lizards. Thought I would ask Cheers!!

Hi, yes I will be looking for homes for the 10 little ones. I haven't posted anything yet but let me know if you are interested. I am in NC if anyone is local.

They are eating like pigs and just going through their first shed. Parents are doing great also. I think I am seeing some color variations starting that would indicate males vs females but being my first hatching of these I am not 100% sure though. Several are getting a greenish tint overall whereas others are keeping the striped tan look of their mom.
