can anyone tell me the difference between the two locals, i thought that the Wamena's had yellow low on the sides and Jayapura's had blue???
To me it dont matter because i hope to have a pair of both down the road, what you think???

Nice looking chondro, but no way to tell which it is. Just call it a chondro and enjoy it.

Technically, GTPs from the town of Wamena are not an official locale that prove to have specific characteristics. Well, at least not yet...basically, many breeders will use the term Wamena as a sales technique because they are offering "special morphs". There are GTPs from this area but they can still be considered to be the Jayapura locale. Same with Lerehs. It's hard enough to tell the differences between separate islands, much less something from the same island only a separate town a couple hours away. Hope that helps!

I would like to add to my previous post. I did a little more research and I would like to retract the comment about not much difference in main island localities. Noticeable differences exist in them because of the varied elevations from the mountain ranges. Unfortunately, If you have no concrete way of knowing for sure, there really is no way of knowing for sure. If the people you are trading with are guessing what they think it is....watch out for them trying to get more value than they deserve. There is nothing wrong at all with chondros with unknown locales. Looks very nice to me, I say she's a keeper!
