I was thinking of getting an amazon tree boa. I have a Colombian boa, and by nature, it's pretty tame.

How "tame" will an Amazon Tree Boa be? I read about their long teeth. I will use a snake hook to get it out of it's cage when necessary. But, how likely to strike are they? Once out of the cage, will it "sit" on your arm similar to a Colombian boa?

ATBs generally bite every chance they get, but not all of them. Some can be handled without a lot of biting, but nothing that even remotely resembles "tame". They won't "sit" while being handled either; they are very active snakes and are continually on the move when taken out of their cage.

Yes, they get alert from the moment you open the cage.

Bite wounds are very mild thou.

But not the snake for those who want to handle.
