Pics and question

RMCADguy Jan 12, 2009 07:03 PM

Hello everyone, I am putting up a number of pics of my buddy granite (his name is Oliver) and two new baby granites I just got from Nick and Austin (thanks guys!)

The question is: has anyone been using the TREX Superfoods Uromastyx Dust with their chuckwallas by chance? I have been using it with success on these juvies for a long time now and I wondered if anyone else has any input on that. Thanks and enjoy the pictures!

They are adorable!

I have a monster biy, and his little sister is catching up fast. I use repcal calcium w/out D3 sometimes (I use Megarays, so they can produce their own D3 ) and Sticky tongue minerall that I got from Doug Dix for the uros. I also try putting the Trex uro dust on there, but they just don't eat as well when I do.

I have tried mazuri pellets. They will nibble at them if I put them in first thing in the morning, but they LOVE small bird pellets. I top their salads with either soaked Zoopreme cockatiel or soaked Pretty Bird small hookbill pellets. This was another suggestion that I got off of Doug's uro caresheet.

Thanks everyone, I will keep posting pics every chance I get. I love seeing photos too, so you all should post more chuck pictures when you get the chance as well.

About the Uromastyx Dust, I cannot believe how well it has been working with me. I have been using it 4 times a week in conjunction with Mercury Vapors, and the chucks are all thriving. I am surprised to hear that your chucks eat less when fed the Dust, because mine seem to only want to eat the salad dusted with Uro Dust now. (bummer lol) But oh well, what they want they get.

Thanks again!

Phil

Well, I keep trying. They get better about it. I guess I just have to get the mix right. But they are doing great too.
