Good looking spotted! Did you find her recently? I'm surprised there still out and about this time of month. Wonder if there are any still in my area (Indiana).

I am currently in the US Navy, so unfortunetly I have sold off my collection of herps. But over the years have kept many different species of turtles, geckos, lizards, amphibs, and even fish. Looking forward to getting back in the hobby once im out though!
Spotteds are still found in scattered localities in the northern third of the Indiana.
Yeah, that's what I had thought I remembered reading. I live in the south/central part of Indiana. I have never came across any unfortunately.

Excellent photo. Thanks for sharing it. I'm very glad to hear that she is still wild! Threatened Species in Ohio... so you are very lucky to have come across her. I've only seen one in all my time in Ohio and she was not nearly so nice looking.
However they have all been in the same area. The first time I ever saw a spotted in the wild was when I saw a pair breeding. I don't think many others have seen wild spotteds breeding, so I feel pretty luck to have witnessed that. No pics of that though, I just kept my distance and watched.
Indeed, I would consider you very lucky! I wonder if this location is on the radar for folks who work toward protecting this species. Does the Division of Wildlife or folks at the natural history museum know about this population?
Needless to say, you have to be extremely careful in disclosing the whereabouts of a population like this. I'm a NE Ohio guy myself (whole life), and as much as I'm dying to know where you found these, I won't ask.
It would be good to have the right people know however, in case this location were to become another strip mall!
