New Addition Coming

curtis9980 Jan 16, 2009 02:55 PM

I have a new baby spotted coming, hopefully no later than the end of next week. It will be my second spotted, giving me two females ( holding incubation temps accurate). I am so excited. My eventual hope is to have three females and a screaming male. I will post pictures as soon as she comes in. If she's half as beautiful as Ms. Julius, I will be so happy.

Speaking of, I have noticed in the recent weeks, she has two and three new spots on each of her perimeter scutes. She is so beautiful.

Good luck on your new addition. Post some pictures once she arrives!

I am currently in the US Navy, so unfortunetly I have sold off my collection of herps. But over the years have kept many different species of turtles, geckos, lizards, amphibs, and even fish. Looking forward to getting back in the hobby once im out though!

That will be a great day for you Curtis, they are so cute when little.
To the above poster, thank you for your service and your sacrifices, giving up your herp collection, among many other sacrifices so that the rest of us can happily enjoy our reptile rooms and our freedom. Best of luck in your future herping endeavors and stay safe.

Sweet Curtis! I just got a new female Sunday from a friend in RI. She looks exactly like the pic of the spottie in Ohio...My buddy is going snake crazy and sold/selling all his turtles and tortoises, so I talked him into an IOU in the future for her.I put her in a 55gal for a temp. til I move some of my others around and my damn luck!..3 eggs in the water.I never even gave her being gravid a thought, so I didn't have a nesting spot in the 55, just some drift wood basking spot.I found them to late, and all cracked. That's the 2nd time I've lost eggs now. That wont happen again.I'm working on a big land area for all of them now.Ya have to get pretty creative when you're laid off and broke. You'll have another 1 before mid summer Curtis if all goes as planned.

I can't wait, Dan! This one I'm getting this week is supposed to be the size of a quarter! OH, I also officially rejoined the workforce today. I started this job at an organic nursery. It doesn't pay well at all, but is better than unemployment benefits and gives me something to do to keep my interest. PLUS, I get a great discount. So my outdoor pond/turtle enclosure should be looking great this summer.

Thats awesome man, good for you.I've run out of places to apply to and still nothing.I don't even look at what anyone is paying anymore.Anything is better than nothing at this point.
